Roosevelt (5-0) at Woodhaven (4-1): This game is big not only for the Warriors and Bears, but for the rest of the Downriver League teams who think they still have a shot at a league title.
After last week’s rousing win over Truman, Roosevelt controls its own destiny. If the Bears win out, they claim their third straight league title.
If Woodhaven wins, however, it could be anarchy.
A Woodhaven victory, combined with a Carlson win at Allen Park and a Truman win at Melvindale would create a four-way tie atop the conference with three games to play. Wouldn’t that be fun?
After three straight win s over team with losing record, Roosevelt showed last week just what a team it is by shutting down Truman’s powerful offense and taking control of the league.
