Cheeseburger In Caseville celebrates all things about a good vacation: “Key West North” is what the Caseville area is called, home to the largest Jimmy Buffett “Parrothead” festival, and the 3rd largest in Michigan.

You have to see it to believe it! Tribute bands from all over the US, tens of thousands crowd the streets of Caseville for the concerts, the parade, and most of all the burgers and camaraderie! The Emmy Award winning live radio variety show is the first live radio variety show produced in Michigan in a generation.

A one hour live radio show broadcast from the Colwell Opera House at Crossroads Village featuring live musical performances by guest artists and Village entertainers.

Special Musical Guest July 2010: Matt Watroba

The July 17th show features Matt Watroba. His love of folk music has led him to his position of “Folks Like Us” radio host, a position he held for over 20 years on WDET-FM. He was awarded “Best Overall Folk Performer” by the Detroit Music Awards in the year 2000. He has shared the stage with some of our greatest performers, including Pete Seeger, Tom Paxton, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Arlo Guthrie, Shawn Colvin, Christine Lavin, Peter Yarrow, and Richard Thompson.
He will join Huckleberry Radio Hour regulars; Neil Woodward-Michigan’s Troubadour, Gary Weisenberg, the Flint Jubilee Chorale, the Huckleberry Players, sound effects artist Jon Coggins, and writer/host well known, local broadcaster Michael J. Thorp.

The “Huckleberry Radio Hour features its own soap opera, “As the Village Turns.,” a humorous look at the trials and tribulations of the residents of historic Crossroads Village. The village history lesson by our village School Marm, Miss Neva Rochester, our weather Rock forecast with village weather guesser Mike Jobin, story telling and lots of music and fun in a jam packed hour of live entertainment all live start to finish.

The music, the commercials, even the sound effects are all performed live, no tape or Computers in this show. Since the “Huckleberry Radio Hour is a “Live” radio show, the studio audience is an essential part of the cast.” “Without them, it’s not “Live” radio.”

Thorp says, “When you think of the “Huckleberry Radio Hour,” think of a combination of those classic radio variety shows, “The Grand Ole Opry” and “A Prairie Home Companion”, with a touch of the “Jack Benny Program”, and “Fibber McGee and Molly.”

Dr. Thorning is an internationally recognized expert on tax, environmental and competitiveness issues. She has
testified as an expert witness on capital formation and environmental issues before several U.S. congressional
committees. Thorning writes and lectures on tax and economic policy, is frequently quoted in publications such
as the Financial Times, Suddeutsche Zeitung, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, and has appeared
internationally on public affairs news programs. She has made presentations on the economic impact of climate
change policy at forums in China, India, the European Union, Russia and elsewhere.

Previously, Dr. Thorning served at the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the
Federal Trade Commission.
