Fall is here, and its time to go where the Scarecrows go!
Oct. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are the 2009 Festival dates, and we are still in Downtown Trenton, at the intersection of West Road and West Jefferson.
Looking for fun? We have a carnival, contests with prizes, events and free entertainment all weekend.

We keep adding new events and still have the favorites from years past” says our Festival Chairman “What is great is that more and more people are getting involved and volunteering – we pride ourselves on a family-oriented event that is also very unique compared to other area events. This is our 8th year of donating funds directly and indirectly to approx. 10 different charities and non-profits.”
The fun starts on Friday night with the opening of the Carnival (get in your last rides before the weather changes), the Scarecrow Idol singing contest at 6PM, and NEW this year – Wingin’ It For Charity at 5PM – a BBQ wing cook-off challenge where YOU vote for the winner! Proceeds go to the Trenton Food Pantry.
If its Saturday morning, then that means we open at 10AM, and all the events are going strong. Like to shop? We have Arts & Crafts vendors between St. Joseph and Elm, and many of our downtown businesses will be open the entire length of the Festival. Our commercial vendors/sponsors will be closer to West Rd – stop by and thank them for their continued support of this annual event.

Saturdays’ contests start at 12noon with the Tug-O-War for charity – cheer on your favorite non-profit as they battle it out on the pulling field just off of West Rd. on W. Jefferson. Past winners include the TBA, the Riverview Firefighters, the Trenton Blades and Shelter to Home. All participating teams “pull” to raise money for their chosen charity.
The Scottish Highland strongman demo/contest is also on Saturday the 3rd at 1:30 afternoon. Its kilts, discus throwing and more!
The 2nd Annual Battle of the Bands features 5 bands, all competing for a cash prize – last years winners drew a HUGE crowd for this event – don’t miss it on Saturday night.
Stick around, because the action doesn’t stop there! The 1st annual Hot Dog Eating Contest gets underway at 3PM – with hot dogs provided by Trenton’s own A & W restaurant.
ENTRIES STILL ACCEPTED FOR THIS EVENT – SPACE IS LIMTED, 18 and over only.
The highly competitive and creative Scarecrow Contest entries will be displayed right next to the bandstage at St Joseph and W. Jefferson – stroll through the entries and vote for you favorite, as all proceeds go to charity. This event runs all weekend

If the scarecrows are shaking, that’s because they too are enjoying the great local music acts at our bandstage – the music starts at 10:30AM and features many different styles of music.
Sunday at 12 noon is the always-anticipated Dog Costume Contest – get your seat early as local canines and their owners show off their creativity.
ENTRIES STILL ACCEPTED FOR THIS EVENT – SPACE IS LIMTED.
Have kids? Our kids’ area is at Elm Street – many of our vendors in that area feature kid-friendly wares, and the petting zoo, pony rides and moonwalk keep the little ones entertained. The Girl Scouts will be manning the toddler games at Elm/W. Jefferson – bring your cameras to capture those fun-filled times as they play games for prizes.
Bring your friends, bring your family, enter a contest and hobnob with the finest Scarecrows around at the 2009 Scarecrow Festival in Trenton
