Carlson (3-0) at Anderson (0-3)
What makes this an interesting is game is the opponents each of these teams have played.
Carlson is 3-0, but its three 2012 victims are a combined 0-9 this year.
Anderson is 0-3, but its’ three opponents are 7-2.
Is Carlson really good? Is Anderson really bad? The likely answer lies somewhere in between and this week it will be revealed.
Anderson’s defense got slashed pretty good in losses to Truman and Woodhaven, but the Titans did a much better job in a close loss to fast, athletic Melvindale last week.
After facing standouts like Woodhaven’s Nick Maher, Truman’s Devin Goodwell and Osiris Smith and Melvindale’s Justin Turner on three straight weeks, the Titans know something about great players and that should make them tougher against Carlson, which does not possess a player of that caliber.
What the Marauders do have, is a backfield full of solid runners, any of whom can be called on to carry the mail.
If the Titans can crank it up on defense, this could turn into a real struggle.
Carlson has limited opponents to just 19 points in three games and Anderson has been shut out in each of its last two contests.
If the Titans could develop a running game, it would make a work of difference for sophomore quarterback Tyler Hall.
